We are seeking a committed and experienced SENCo to lead and develop high‑quality SEND provision across our school in Manchester. The successful candidate will ensure inclusive practice, effective support for pupils with additional needs, and strong collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals.

This role is central to promoting equality of opportunity and enabling every child to achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor SEND provision, including EHCPs. Advise staff on the graduated approach to SEND support. Work with the SEND Provision Leader to deliver consistent, high‑quality provision. Partner with the Strategic Lead for SEND to promote an inclusive whole‑school approach. Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEND records and documentation. Build strong relationships with parents and carers of pupils with SEND. Act as the main liaison with external agencies and professionals.

Lead and deliver SEND‑focused staff training and development. Support the strategic development of SEND policy and practice. Track progress and attainment of pupils with SEND and report to leaders and governors. Promote an inclusive, nurturing ethos aligned with the school's Rights‑Respecting values.

Qualifications
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND
  • Successful teaching experience within a primary setting
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete within three years of appointment, if not already held)
  • Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND
  • Experience of working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies
