DescriptionGreenbank Preparatory School and Day Nursery is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored support to individual children across both the classroom and outdoor settings. Working closely with the Headteacher, SENCO, and class teachers, you will play a vital role in helping children with their learning, social development, and emotional well‑being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide classroom and 1‑1 support to our children, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities and lessons.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support children with their emotional, behavioural, and social challenges, fostering positive development and building self‑confidence.
- Work alongside class teachers and other professionals, such as speech therapists, to ensure holistic support for our children.
- Help with the planning, preparation, and presentation of lessons, resources and displays.
- Offer administrative support to the վերց娶 teaching team, including photocopying and lesson preparation.
- Ensure child records are maintained and contribute to progress reports.
- Maintain confidentiality, ensuring the privacy of our children and families is respected at all times.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Headteacher.
- Promote the ethos and values of the school, setting a positive example in terms of attendance, dress, and punctuality.
- Attend staff meetings, INSET, and training as required.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety, ensuring a safe environment for all children.
- Previous experience working with SEND children, preferably in a school or nursery setting.
- A passion for supporting children’s development, particularly those with additional needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting children with emotional, social, or behavioural needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
