An exciting opportunity has arisen within Salford’s Education Inclusion team to support the Alternative Education Provision (AP) service, ensuring that provision for pupils who are disengaging from mainstream curriculum and/or who would benefit from an alternative programme of education have the opportunity to improve their academic and social/emotional outcomes.
The role is one dedicated to supporting children in accessing the education to which they are entitled. The requirements of your role will vary on an individual case by case basis.
We are looking for a passionate, child‑centred Officer to join our team, working alongside the AP Manager and other Education Inclusion Officers to develop this strand of our service. The successful applicant will have experience of working with children and families in an education setting and will be able to demonstrate that they are highly organised and self‑motivated.
You will have the ability to maintain effective professional relationships at all levels and manage complex meetings. You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and well organised with the flexibility to meet deadlines.
In return, you will have the support of a great team, with good training and excellent opportunities for professional development. We are proud of our Education Inclusion team and our alternative provision offer and are looking for someone special to join us.
You will need to have thorough knowledge and experience of alternative provision legislation and the local authority’s statutory responsibilities to ensure that all children and young people in Salford are being provided with an education that is suitable to their age, aptitude, ability and any special educational needs they may have.
You will also need to be a problem solver, experienced in working to secure the best outcomes for children on alternative provision and be able to work with different agencies, using your exceptional interpersonal skills.
