Passenger Assistant

Alder Brook is a provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health in Winton, Salford. We recently opened a second site in Irlam. We educate pupils on site in KS1 & KS2.

We are currently recruiting a Passenger Assistant to work on our home to school transport.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

• Assist children with various special education needs during school transport.
• Help ensure pupils are transported to school in a safe and caring way.
• Collect and drop off the passenger assistant by the vehicle driver each day at a specified location.
• Support the bus driver and fellow crew in maintaining a safe journey.

• 20 hours part‑time, 5 days a week, school term time only.
• Split shift of two 2‑hour sessions each day (e.g., 7:30–7:45 am start and an afternoon finish up to 4:15 pm).
• School hours: 9:00–2:15 pm Monday‑Thursday, 9:00–1:00 pm Friday.

• You must have a caring nature, be very reliable, and be able to commit to working all school days during the school year.
• Fully enhanced DBS check required.
