The RoleWe are recruiting lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing & Social Care programme. The delivery model requires flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities- All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
- Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate.
- Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials.
- Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
- Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
- Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and student progression.
- You hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
- You have previous UK higher education lecturing experience in the wider subject area.
- You can demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- You have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- You have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.
- You can work under pressure, plan and prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.
- You have excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
- You can work with diverse groups of people.
- You hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or international equivalent).
- You have experience of design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
- 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days.
