Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Medicine Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to appoint Senior Clinical Fellows (Senior Locally Employed Doctors) to complement our team.
Department and facilitiesYou will be working in one of Greater Manchester’s busiest hospitals, where over 100,000 patients are assessed in the Emergency Department every year. The department includes a Paediatric Emergency Department, an Urgent Treatment Centre, a Resuscitation area, and a Same Day Emergency Care unit with a front‑door service for Medical and Respiratory referrals.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care in paediatric and adult acute emergencies.
- Develop special interests and maintain skills through management of paediatric and adult acute emergencies.
- Participate in simulation sessions, regular ultrasound training, and a daily dedicated Consultant shift promoting shop floor educational activities.
Although not a Deanery-approved training post, successful candidates will share the same rota as other trainees. There will be a bespoke training programme and quality improvement activities.
Eligibility and sponsorshipDue to the short-term nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold a current registration with the GMC at the time of application, whether it be an active licence, ceased licence, or a pending application. MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for vacancies less than 12 months fixed term. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.

5. Should a candidate require Tier 5 sponsorship, they must apply through the Academy of Royal College via the MTI Scheme.
