Senior Clinical Fellow – Transplantation & Organ Retrieval
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Transplantation & Organ Retrieval. This fixed‑term post is based at the Manchester Royal Infirmary within the Department of Renal and Pancreas Transplantation, the largest unit in the country. The role will run for one year (potentially renewable with mutual agreement) and will support the clinical service in general surgery and transplantation.
Responsibilities- Develop portfolio structure for transplant and general surgical trainees.
- Participate in renal and pancreatic transplantation, vascular access surgery, organ retrieval (NORS) and general surgery activities, including scheduled emergency lists and elective opportunities.
- Support the Manchester organ retrieval team and work closely with colleagues at all grades in nephrology.
- Contribute to the wide range of general and endocrine surgery services.
- Report to the Clinical Director and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
As this post is not recognised for postgraduate training, applicants should have a strong background in surgical practice, experience in transplantation or related fields, and a commitment to developing surgical skills.
