Overview
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our hardworking multidisciplinary team, working 4 sessions.
This post will be under the BMA model contract.
We are a training Practice.
Our CQC rating is good.
Job summaryThe GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of enhanced services including:
- In person consultations
- Telephone consultations
- Visiting patients at home
- Checking and signing prescriptions
- Covering duty clinic on a shared rotation
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
- Clinical administration
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Effective management of long-term conditions
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, filling blood results, Docman and other associated administrative tasks
- On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
- Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
- Supervise and support ARRS staff
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
- Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
- Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
- Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
We are a small practice located in Withington serving a population of around 5500 patients. The practice has a friendly, supportive team who work closely. This consists of 1 GP partner, 1 salaried GP, 1 physician assistant, a pharmacy technician, 1 Practice Manager and a team of 4 Administrators.
We are part of an active PCN and have good working relationships while sharing good practice with one another.
