Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Salaried GP

We are pleased to offer a rare and exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our busy, supportive inner city GP training practice. This is a fixed term post for 9 months initially, created due to the short notice emigration of a valued salaried GP, with a clear view to a longer term and more substantive role for the right candidate.

This role offers 6-8 sessions per week with an anticipated start date of February 2026. You will be joining a stable, well established practice where patient care, teamwork, and staff wellbeing genuinely matter. With capped workload arrangements, strong multidisciplinary support, and no regular routine home visits, this is a role designed to be both professionally fulfilling and sustainable.

If you are looking for a practice where you are valued, well supported, and able to focus on high quality patient care within a diverse community, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and thrive.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high quality, patient centred general medical services to a diverse inner city population. Clinical work will include a mix of telephone and face to face consultations, with standard 10 minute appointments and 20 minute appointments where interpreters are required.

You will assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and long term conditions, supporting continuity of care and appropriate follow up. You will work closely with a well established multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, advanced nurse practitioners, mental health practitioners, physician associate, GP assistants and social prescribers, with clear pathways for shared care and support.

Senior, experienced GPs are available in person every day to provide advice, support, and supervision as needed. Medicine management workload and document processing are capped for salaried GPs to ensure safe and manageable working.

Home visits are very rare due to a commissioned visiting service and would only be expected in exceptional circumstances, such as for patients receiving palliative care. The role also includes participation in clinical meetings, learning activities, and ongoing learning and development.
