The Vet Office is recruiting on behalf of a well-established small animal practice in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester
, seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a close-knit clinical team.
This role is ideal for a vet who values high clinical standards, strong client relationships, and the opportunity to contribute to a supportive, progressive practice environment.
The RoleAs a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be accountable for delivering excellent patient care while ensuring outstanding service for clients and effective collaboration with colleagues. You will work to the highest regulatory, clinical, and operational standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Care
- Deliver exceptional client care at every interaction
- Manage and resolve client concerns or complaints professionally
- Provide clear and timely updates to clients regarding patient care and procedures
- Ensure clients are informed when patients require out-of-hours or enhanced care
- Carry out consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
- Take responsibility for patient monitoring and welfare
- Manage admissions and discharges according to case complexity
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
- Complete clinical handovers and arrange transfers for OOH or enhanced care
- Prescribe and dispense medication with appropriate checks
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, clinical, and operational standards
- Uphold health and safety requirements at all times
- Implement agreed clinical and nursing standards within the practice
- Prepare accurate treatment plans and cost estimates
- Support effective payment processes and minimise debt
- Maximise clinical capacity through effective use of skills and resources
- Participate in and lead clinical meetings as required
- Support and mentor colleagues, including graduates where appropriate
- Share best clinical practice within the team
- Contribute to a positive, progressive clinical culture
- Ensure laboratory testing is carried out correctly
- Escalate operational or clinical concerns to the Practice Manager when required
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Proven experience delivering high-quality clinical care
- Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Experience supporting nurse consults and efficient clinical workflows
- Comfortable using coaching and influencing skills to support colleagues
- Stable, well-organised practice with a supportive team
