Skull Base, Cochlear Implant and Complex Otology Fellowship

Applications are invited from the UK and internationally for this post, commencing September 2026. The post will be for a period of 12 months. The aim of the role is to enable independent practice in skull base surgery, cochlear implantation, and complex otology within a multidisciplinary setting, and to conduct high‑quality clinical research.

• Perform skull base surgery at Salford Royal Hospital and otology/cochlear implantation procedures at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
• Work within a unit that hosts the largest neurofibromatosis type II practice in the UK and one of the world’s largest auditory brainstem implant units.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑8 specialist registrar on‑call rota covering Salford Royal Hospital.
• Carry out clinical research and produce relevant publications.

• FRCS (ORL‑HNS) or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration.
• Clinical experience in otolaryngology commensurate with a year 5–6 SpR.
• Significant experience in complex otology.
• Relevant publications in otology.

• Experience managing skull base pathology and cochlear implantation.
• Experience in database management.

£73,992 per annum. Fixed‑term contract for 12 months, full‑time. Pay scheme:
Hospital medical and dental staff (SpR equivalent).
