Service Designer

We’re hiring an experienced Service Design contractor for a project in the transport sector, focused on digital and financial inclusion.

This role is about leading design sprints and facilitation, not conducting primary research.

You’ll help design services for users who are digitally or financially excluded, including people who are unbanked, don’t use cards, can’t access online services, or distrust financial institutions. The aim is to deliver services that are on par with modern digital experiences, without relying on digital or financial access.

• Analyse existing user research and define key challenges
• Facilitate workshops around specific problem areas (e.g. ticket purchasing, refunds, complaints)
• Design and test digital and non-digital service solutions
• Produce practical, inclusive service concepts

• Strong experience as a Service Designer
• Background in digital/financial inclusion (such as public sector or government-style projects)
• Confident workshop facilitator and sprint lead
• Comfortable designing services beyond screens
• Can think outside the box to come up with solutions
• Duration: 3-4 months
• Sprint-heavy weeks from late Feb to April
• Remote with occasional in person workshop in Manchester, Leeds or London
