Overview
We are recruiting a student with graphic design experience to support a UEFA-funded research project on disabled football fans’ matchday experience. You will turn research insights into clear, inclusive visuals for PowerPoint, a research report, and a project webpage, working closely with Dr Marianna Pavan and the team. Responsibilities- Design PowerPoint decks/templates (covers, section dividers, diagrams, simple data visuals).
- Create report graphics/infographics and prepare assets for print/PDF and web.
- Produce web graphics (banners, icons, call-outs) optimised for accessibility and performance.
- Apply accessibility best practice (contrast, legibility, alt-text guidance).
- Follow brand guidelines (University/UEFA/partner) and manage tidy files/versions.
- Strong grasp of layout, typography, colour, and information hierarchy.
- An eye for inclusive design and willingness to apply WCAG-aligned principles.
- Good communication, organisation, and responsiveness to feedback.
- Portfolio showing relevant work (infographics, layouts, brand application).
- A small PowerPoint template + slide suite.
- A set of report figures/infographics.
- Webpage graphics package (banner + supporting assets).
- Genuine interest in football (e.g., follows clubs/competitions or fan/community initiatives) and enthusiasm for the fan experience.
- Commitment to human rights and disability inclusion, with a respectful, ethical approach to representing lived experience.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint + Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop, evidenced by a portfolio of slides, layouts and infographics.
- Strong grasp of layout, typography and colour with keen attention to detail and consistency.
- Working knowledge of accessible design (colour contrast, readable type, clear hierarchy, alt-text guidance) and willingness to apply WCAG-aligned principles.
- Ability to translate research insights and simple data into clear visuals (figures, diagrams, charts) for report and web use.
- Organisation & communication skills: manages deadlines, uses version control/file naming, and iterates constructively from feedback in a collaborative team.
- Experience preparing web graphics (right sizes/formats, optimisation) and exporting accessible documents (e.g., tagged PDFs).
- Familiarity with Figma/Canva and basic motion/video for short clips or animated slides.
- Experience preparing print-ready artwork (bleed/CMYK/resolution) and working within partner brand guidelines (e.g., multi-logo lockups).
