Position: Staff Collaborative Pianist

Manchester Community Music School is a non-profit organization committed to the mission of “changing lives through the power of learning, sharing, and making music.” Located in historic north Manchester, MCMS provides quality musical instruction, music therapy, and performance opportunities for people of all ages. The Music School is home to 50 of New England’s finest music educators and music therapists and over 1,500 students and clients from across New Hampshire.

As a cultural performance center, we offer programs in an environment that encourages participation, interaction, and enjoyment. We are dedicated to supporting the artistic development of the community through our programs, and our classes are open to all regardless of age, race, national origin, physical challenges, or ability to pay.

Manchester Community Music School is seeking a part-time staff Collaborative Pianist
. The Collaborative Pianist is responsible for serving as the accompanist for the MCMS Women’s Choir, MCMS Queen City Voices Choir, and MCMS Queen City Concert Choir. They will also be responsible for accompanying students in 2 pre-scheduled MCMS adult recitals a year (January 12th, 2026, and May 18th, 2026). There will be the opportunity to accompany students or faculty members for additional recitals, events, and competitions (right of first refusal).

Position begins December 4th, 2025, and runs through June 13th, 2026. Bulk of hours needed will be late afternoon or evening in December, January, February, May, and June.

Required Availability:
  • December 4th, 11th, and 18th, 2025: 7pm to 8:30pm
  • December 12th, 6pm to 8:30pm
  • December 20th, 2025: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
  • January 12th, 2026: 6pm to 9pm
  • January 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th, 2026: 4pm to 5pm
  • February 3rd and 4th, 2026: 4pm-5pm
  • February 6th, 2026: 5:30pm-8pm
  • May 18th, 2026: 6pm to 9pm
  • May 19th, 20th, 26th, 27th, 2026: 4pm to 5pm
  • June 2nd and 3rd, 2026: 4pm to 5pm
  • June 5th, 2026: 5:30pm to 8pm
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in music or music education preferred
  • Demonstrated experience as an accompanist/collaborative pianist
  • Strong sight-reading skills; ability to learn music quickly
  • Experience in collaborating and performing with individuals and groups in a variety of musical settings and styles
  • Organizational skills; excellent dependability and time management
  • Cover letter addressing capabilities, experiences, and interests
