Estimating Manager

We're hiring for an Estimating Manager to lead a lively pre-construction function within an established mechanical building contractor based in Salford.

With strong project flow, a healthy win ratio and succession planning in place, this is a genuine long-term opportunity with progression toward Director level.

• £50k - £70k p/a
• Mon - Thu | 8:30am - 5pm
• Early finish on Fridays

• Leading and managing the estimating department and workload
• Preparing, reviewing and submitting tenders using Trimble estimating software
• Managing between #removed# tenders annually across mechanical building projects
• Reviewing tender documentation and producing detailed take-offs
• Issuing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and analysing returns
• Building and maintaining client relationships from Stage 3 to Stage 4 design
• Attending client meetings, pre-tender discussions and contractor engagement sessions
• Working closely with business development to identify new tender opportunities
• Mentoring and developing junior estimators
• Preparing handover packs and supporting pre-start meetings
• Managing deadlines ranging from 1-6 weeks per tender

• Previous estimating experience
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
• Experience with in mechanical building services or M&E contracting
• Strong understanding of design & build projects
• Confident using Excel and estimating software (Trimble preferred)
