Estimator - Decorating

Position: Estimator - Decorating (Permanent)
Location: Salford

We are currently seeking to identify suitable candidates for an Estimator or Senior Estimator position (dependent on experience). Applications are also welcomed from experienced Estimators who are looking to progress into a Senior Estimator role.

The role may be based from one of two regional offices (Carlisle or Salford, with occasional travel required to the Head Office for meetings as needed. The position is central to the tendering function, with responsibility for preparing and submitting competitive, accurate, and timely tenders.

Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in securing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring effective communication with delivery teams. The role also includes mentoring junior Estimators and contributing to the continued development and growth of the estimating function.

Key Skills & Experience Required

* Strong estimating background, ideally within the painting or related trade sectors. Relevant industry experience is prioritised over formal qualifications, although credentials such as an Ordinary/Higher Certificate in Building or CIOB membership are advantageous.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in presenting tenders.

* Proven ability to deliver high standards of customer service and maintain long-term client relationships.

* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

* Professional and confident telephone manner.

* Experience in identifying and supporting business development opportunities.
