The Company
Our client is a Manchester-based office fit-out specialist delivering commercial interior projects across the UK. With a current turnover of approximately £10m and ambitious plans to grow to £16m, the business is strengthening its commercial team to support ongoing growth.
They undertake a wide range of projects, from small works to large-scale office refurbishments, typically valued between £40k and £1.6m, and are known for their collaborative approach and high-quality delivery.
The Role
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a Junior Estimator to join their estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their estimating career to develop within a growing office fit-out contractor, working alongside experienced Senior Estimators and Directors.
You will be involved in the preparation of tenders and cost plans, gaining hands-on experience across the full estimating process.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions
* Measure and take off quantities from drawings and specifications
* Help source prices from subcontractors and suppliers
* Build and maintain pricing databases and cost schedules
* Assist in value engineering and cost comparison exercises
* Support the Senior Estimator with multiple tenders and deadlines
* Attend internal tender meetings and site visits where required
* Learn and develop an understanding of office fit-out construction methods
Skills & Experience Required
* Some experience or strong interest in construction estimating (office fit out or interiors preferred but not essential)
* Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent) desirable
* Good numerical and analytical skills
* Strong attention to detail and organisation
* Willingness to learn and develop within the role
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
* Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
