AboutThe Role
Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Senior E3S (Environment, Safety, Security & Safeguards) Case Author to play a pivotal role in producing E3S Cases and Safety Analysis Reports for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge nuclear technology and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Author E3S Case and Safety Analysis Report documents in line with governance and quality assurance standards.
- Develop and maintain plans for document production and submission to regulators/customers.
- Support the E3S Case Delivery Lead in programme development aligned with licensing schedules.
- Provide guidance to engineering and analysis teams to ensure robust arguments and evidence.
- Engage with external regulators and customers on E3S topics.

- Strong technical report writing skills with experience navigating governance processes.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of safety, environmental, or security case development and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders on large-scale projects.
- Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a professional engineering body (or equivalent).
- Salary: £48,000 - £63,000
- Benefit Allowance: £2,200
- Bonus Opportunity: 12.5%
- Life Assurance: 6x pensionable salary
- Income Protection: 50%
- Holiday: 28 days plus bank holidays
- New Joiner Payment: £250

- Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
- Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
