Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing dynamic organisation that’s passionate about investing in the growth and development of its people. We’re currently seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to join our team in Manchester.
This role focuses on re‑engaging lapsed or dormant clients from our existing database, relationships that hold strong potential but have become inactive. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will strategically work through a defined list of past clients, known contacts, and previous leads to rekindle conversations, uncover new needs, and qualify opportunities before passing them to the Business Development Manager team for conversion.
Key responsibilities include outreach via email, Linked In, and phone; rebuilding relationships by positioning our value proposition; qualifying leads against set criteria; managing pipeline data in CRM systems; collaborating closely with BDMs for smooth handovers; and gathering insights on client needs and market trends to inform strategy.
- Outreach & Engagement - Reconnect with cold or inactive contacts using a mix of email, Linked In, phone, and other outreach methods
- Relationship Rebuilding - Position the firm’s value proposition effectively, reigniting interest in our services based on evolving client needs
- Qualification of Leads - Assess re‑engaged clients for fit, potential, and readiness using pre‑defined criteria, ensuring only high‑quality referrals are passed to BDMs
- Pipeline Management - Maintain accurate records of engagement, qualification stages, and progress using CRM systems
- Collaboration with BDMs - Work closely with the Business Development Management team to hand over qualified leads with detailed briefing notes and context
- Insight Gathering - Capture and report on common reasons for disengagement, new needs, or market trends to inform broader business development strategy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for rebuilding trust and relationships
- Confident using CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot) to track outreach, manage leads, and report progress
- A strategic, curious, and consultative mindset—able to ask the right questions and listen deeply
- Comfortable with outreach that may not always yield immediate results; persistent, professional, and positive in tone
- Proven ability to qualify and triage opportunities effectively
- Salary aligned with your skills and expertise
- 25 days holiday allowance plus statutory public holidays
- A clear progression route to further your career
- Flexible benefit and well‑being schemes
- Birthday leave
- 2 giving back days per year. We encourage our team to support the wider community by providing paid leave to work with local charities or good causes
- A hard working, fun and professional working environment
- Enhanced family friendly policies, including enhanced Maternity pay
- 36.25 hour working week
