The Community Midwives team are seeking a highly motivated and supportive Administrative Assistant to join our busy service.

We work alongside the community midwives, operating within clearly defined policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines, to aid the smooth running of a busy community midwifery service reflecting high quality customer care in all that we do.

Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient focused service.

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. A friendly and conscientious outlook is also required as is the ability to liaise with all levels of staff and patients

Our aim is to continually improve patient services and as such having robust administrative support, with a professional approach is essential. With all this mind you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, have accurate typing skills and must be able to multitask and willing to adapt and develop your skill set to match service requirements.

Main duties of the job

This role provides vital administrative support to the community midwifery service to ensure women are scheduled for their community antenatal and post natal appointments at time critical intervals. The role involves high volumes of telecommunication and therefore excellent customer service is pivotal to providing high levels of support to our patients.

Flexibility is key as the post holder will be expected when required to provide cross cover to the wider services within Maternity during times of need.
