Meraki Talent are supporting one of top Accountancy Firms in the UK with an appointment of Assistant Manager for their Business Outsourcing Services department in their Manchester Office.
An established and fast‑growing accountancy and professional services firm is looking for an Assistant Manager to join their Business Outsourcing Services team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, delivering a range of accounting services while supporting departmental operations and helping improve client finance functions through efficient processes and technology.
Based in Manchester
, this is a permanent role with hybrid working flexibility once fully settled in the position. Full‑time office attendance is required during the initial training period.
- Take ownership of a client portfolio, providing services such as statutory accounts, management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns, corporation tax, and system health checks.
- Build strong, long‑term relationships with clients and act as their main point of contact.
- Identify opportunities to add value across your client portfolio.
- Advise clients on accounting and finance queries, delivering practical solutions.
- Use accounting software and cloud technologies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Support departmental operations, including task prioritisation, resource management, and time monitoring.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure a seamless service for clients.
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, or qualified by experience
- Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Proven technical knowledge in statutory accounts, VAT, corporation tax, management accounts, and bookkeeping
- Experience managing client relationships and people
Comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders
- Experience with accounting software such as Silverfin, Xero, Sage, Quick Books, and Excel
