Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) contract with Epic experience and strong PCU background.
Responsibilities- Position is in the PCU unit contracted to care for inpatient/CICU level holds in an ED setting
- Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Every other weekend is required
- Patient diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, and overflow from medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic cases
- Special procedures include managing and titrating drips such as Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
- Utilizes equipment such as Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and the Phillips Monitoring System
- Uses the Epic EMR system and experience is required
- Care for a diverse patient population involving medical, surgical, trauma, and cardiac conditions in an ED holding/CICU setting
- First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience and Epic requirements
- Travelers within 50 miles are accepted at the local rate
- Teamwork is essential in a busy, high-acuity environment
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross are required
- Must pass EKG test on arrival
- Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience within the last year is required
- Epic EMR experience is required
- ED experience preferred but not required
- References are required for consideration; second reference may be submitted post-offer
- Travelers cannot have been a former employee at any Solution Health-associated facility
