As an RN in the operating room, you will evaluate patients before surgery, provide peri‑operative education, manage patient preparation, participate in surgical site verification, recognize emergencies, and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, safety‑focused care.

- Evaluate patients prior to surgery to determine readiness and verify documentation.
- Provide patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including intravenous therapy, pre‑operative medications, and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification, briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies promptly.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while implementing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – healthcare providers, surgeons, and technologists.
- Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes with thorough detail.
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
