About Dismas Home of New Hampshire

Dismas Home of New Hampshire is a 501(c)(3) residential treatment and reentry program that provides justice-involved women, including women veterans, with substance use disorders a safe, home-like environment to heal, recover, and rebuild their lives. As New Hampshire’s only two-phase recovery and transition home dedicated exclusively to this population, Dismas Home combines evidence-based clinical treatment, trauma-informed care, and robust life-skills and workforce preparation so that residents can regain stability, secure employment and housing, and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

Position Summary

The Statewide Director of Philanthropy is responsible for leading, executing, and expanding Dismas Home NH’s philanthropic strategy across New Hampshire. This role designs and executes a comprehensive fundraising program with a strong emphasis onmajor gifts, individual donors, foundations, businesses, and community relationships.

As the organization’s lead relationship-builder, the Director of Philanthropy will personally cultivate, solicit, and steward donors while strengthening systems, messaging, and Board engagement to support sustainable revenue growth. This is a highly visible role requiring both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, statewide philanthropy strategy aligned with Dismas Home’s mission, strategic priorities, and financial goals
  • Grow and diversify contributed revenue, with emphasis on major gifts, annual giving, foundations, and special initiatives
  • Establish clear fundraising goals, metrics, and reporting to track progress and inform leadership and Board decision-making

Major Gifts & Donor Engagement

  • Manage and grow a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects, who can give $5,000 or more, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand donor interests, motivations, and capacity
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and gift agreements in partnership with leadership
  • Ensure meaningful, mission-centered stewardship and donor communications
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board to strengthen Board engagement in philanthropy
  • Support the Development Committee with strategy, materials, and actionable fundraising roles
  • Coach Board members and key volunteers on donor cultivation and solicitation as appropriate

Communications & External Relations

  • Collaborate with staff and consultants to ensure consistent, compelling fundraising messaging and materials
  • Represent Dismas Home at community events, donor meetings, community and statewide networks
  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization, strengthening visibility and trust across New Hampshire

Systems, Operations & Data

  • Oversee donor management systems (Arreva), ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and stewardship
  • Use data to manage pipelines, forecast revenue, and evaluate fundraising effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards and best practices

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a relationship-driven fundraiser who is comfortable working both strategically and tactically in a mission-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in major gifts
  • Proven ability to build authentic relationships with donors, community leaders, and faith-based partners
  • Experience working closely with nonprofit Boards and executive leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donor-facing presentations
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities independently in a small, collaborative organization
  • Experience with donor databases/CRMs and data-informed fundraising
  • Willingness and ability to travel statewide and attend occasional evening or weekend events

Dismas Home of New Hampshire offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with benefits and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in communities across the state.

Salary range: $88,000- $100,000
