We are looking for a reliable Laser Operator to join our team in Manchester, NH. You will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to precisely cut materials according to the specifications, adjust laser settings, checking inspections, packaging, creating labels and shipping materials to the designated facility. In addition, you will adhere to the safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
A Laser Operator is responsible for setting up jobs and reviewing customer drawings based on product requirements, programs for laser processing, inspection of product, and for operating and maintaining laser workstations and inspection equipment.
Responsibilities:- In this role, you will prepare and run CO 2 lasers with minimal supervision.
- Open programs, set up operations, follow instructions (detailed in programs and manufacturing paperwork), and modify program parameters / G-code.
- Understand and develop experimental settings for cutting methods, feed rates, power parameters, etc. for different materials.
- Optimize programs for yield efficiency and cut quality.
- Program and train on Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) inspection system (Micro-Vu).
- Perform 1st and 2nd piece inspections visually and with a CMM.
- Performs equipment evaluation and preventive maintenance such as laser beam evaluation, alignment, and adjustments; and X/Y-stage maintenance.
- Methodically follow schedules to meet customer commitments.
- Practical knowledge of safety requirements associated with equipment operation and procedures.
- This role requires standing, bending, reaching, and adjusting material and equipment in and around systems at different elevations.
- Package epoxy sheet products as well as inspecting, labelling, and logging completed jobs.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's is a plus
- 1+ year Warehouse experience, packaging or manufacturing is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Experience using CAD software is nice to have
