The President is the Chief Executive Officer of Bishop Brady High School (9‑12) and St. John Regional School (PreK‑8). The role combines Catholic leadership, strategic vision, and comprehensive operational oversight. The President is a practicing Catholic who works with the Bishop of Manchester and the Superintendent to advance Catholic identity while achieving the mission of both schools.
Responsibilities- Leadership and Vision – Promote the ecclesial purpose of the schools and ensure curriculum, culture, and community reflect Catholic values.
- External Affairs – Develop relationships with donors, alumni, and the wider Catholic community; manage public and media representation.
- Financial Stewardship – Oversee budgeting, fiscal management, tuition, scholarships, and capital construction; ensure long‑term financial stability.
- Strategic Planning – Coordinate development, enrollment, and community engagement plans with the Superintendent and school staff.
- Administrative Oversight – Supervise principals and other administrators, establish policies, and maintain accreditation compliance.
- 1. Promote the ecclesial purpose of the schools and their ministries of the Church.
- 2. Communicate and oversee implementation of the Bishop’s directives affecting the schools.
- 3. Serve as chief executive officer to the Superintendent.
- 4. Provide training, reports, and leadership to the Advisory Board.
- 5. Maintain strong communication with the Advisory Board.
- 6. Develop strategic planning, development planning, and capital construction efforts.
- 7. Cultivate major donors and solicit financial gifts.
- 8. Align policies and practices with diocesan policies.
- 9. Oversee all development and fundraising efforts, including grants.
- 10. Supervise development office employees.
- 11. Direct the financial assistance program(s).
- 12. Maintain procedures consistent with NEASC accreditation processes.
- 13. Act as the chief representative of the schools with the public and the media.
- 14. Build communication lines with parents, patrons, and the broader community.
- 15. Provide updates on significant school‑level issues to the Catholic School Office and diocesan offices.
- 16. Oversee all public relations actions by the schools and their personnel.
- 17. Oversee the schools’ budgets to ensure accountability and alignment with mission.
- 18. Supervise, evaluate, and provide professional development opportunities for principals.
- 19. Approve candidates for principal vacancies and sign contracts.
- 20. Ensure collection, maintenance, and communication of required records.
- 21. Oversee departmental communications, correspondence, publications, and reports.
- 22. Mediate school disputes beyond administrative resolution.
- 23. Work closely with the Chancellor and legal counsel on policy and personnel issues.
- 24. Maintain membership in necessary organizations and committees.
The President navigates complex work situations independently, leading all development and financial matters while maintaining discretion on confidential issues. The role requires outreach across the Manchester area and frequent travel within the diocese.
Environment- Office environment – clean, well‑lit, and free of fumes.
- Minimal exposure to copier‑related chemicals.
- Reach at or above shoulder level, with occasional lower reach.
- Frequent grasping and manipulation of equipment.
- Travel throughout the diocese.
- Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Prolonged sitting and/or standing, with occasional lifting of approximately 25 pounds.
- Regular sitting, standing, and walking.
Job Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication; strong presence in oral presentations.
- Interpersonal, decision‑making, teamwork, negotiation, and public‑relations skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency with basic office equipment and software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentation).
- Practicing Catholic.
- Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 4 years’ senior‑level business management experience.
- Experience in education demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid driver’s license.
