The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for performing high‑quality ultrasound examinations for inpatients and outpatients as requested by referring physicians, ensuring a therapeutic and supportive environment for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort
- Perform a variety of ultrasound studies (abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, small parts, vascular) following ACR guidelines
- Conduct vascular laboratory exams such as PVR, ABI, TBI, and segmental pressures
- Identify normal and abnormal anatomy, adjusting techniques accordingly
- Train and mentor student sonographers
- Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound training program or equivalent experience
- Previous experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is desirable
- Vascular experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Registered or Registry Eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- RVT/RVS within 12 months of hire
- Must renew certification and/or registration annually with 30 hours of continuing education for each triennium
- Licensed in the State of New Hampshire with the Board of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy
This position is a full‑time night‑shift opportunity.
