** About the Job:
** The practice of vascular-interventional radiography is performed by health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. A vascularinterventional technologist performs radiographic and other procedures at the request of a licensed practitioner. Vascular-interventional radiography integrates scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and care resulting in diagnostic information. A vascular-interventional technologist recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure and exercises independent professional and ethical judgment.

Performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission, Philosophy and Code of Conduct of Elliot Health System.

* What You’ll Do:

*** Perform vascular-interventional procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) “Vascular Interventional Practice Standards” and the ASRT “Code of Ethics.”
* Understand and adhere to departmental exam protocols
* Actively participate in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model
* Complete annual mandatory education requirements on time
* Prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy
* Serve as primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team
* Remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills
* Utilize independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
** Who You Are:
*** Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program, Required
* 5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, Required
* Experience with biopsy procedures specifically stereotactic and ultrasound is strongly preferred
* Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, Required
* Certified by ARRT in Radiology, Required
* Ability to obtain BLS during employment
