Role and Scope of Position
The Vegetation Management GIS Technician is responsible for supporting the execution of the Vegetation Management Department’s data analytics as related to ESRI Geographical Information System (GIS) associated with the Company’s electrical system. The individual will perform complex data analysis using ArcGIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software; understands and can apply the capabilities of GIS, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), databases, and other computer programs to solve complex spatial and relational problems.
In this position you will be focused on conducting data analysis and preparation of documents, data reports, GIS dashboards, and maps. The individual will also leverage Eversource data (GIS, Work Management, NMS, etc.) with non‑Eversource data (Communities, Environmental Impact, Capacity Studies, etc.) for complex analytics and work management strategies.
Work with members of the team and department to define problems and clarify objectives; determine spatial data needs and assist in designing collection tools and reports. Evaluate spatial and non‑spatial data and reports to assess if reporting meets end‑user requirements.
Conduct data analysis and preparation of documents, data reports, GIS dashboards, and maps.
Review, analyze, and consolidate data from multiple disparate sources including usage of SQL, Python, and REST.
Communicate complex technical issues both verbally and in writing to non‑technical GIS users.
Provide support for the data maintenance and data quality effort.
Support internal and external tracking and reporting requirements associated with GIS data andable electric distribution/transmission, including reporting of metrics related to the achievement of project benefits.
Plan, organize, make decisions, and manage time, including the ability to appropriately prioritize assignments.

Will be required to support emergency restoration efforts throughout the Eversource service territory.
曝 extensive knowledge of hands‑on experience with ArcGIS Pro, Model Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Insights, Portal, Story Maps, Power BI and other online mapping solutions or current equivalent; demonstrated competency and proficiency in oral and written communications.
Strong demonstrated knowledge with SQL, Python, and REST preferred.
Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS related or related quantitative field (MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred).
Certification as a GIS Professional (GISP) preferred.
Three to five years of experience with ESRI; experience in spatial and relational data analysis, data management, analytical modeling, statistics, and mobile opportunities (e.g., remote sensing, GPS, etc.) within the electrical utility industry.
Three to five years working with ArcGIS Online applications such as Field Maps, Survey 123, Quick Capture, and Experience Builder.
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$86,050.00 - $95,610.00
