Opportunity at a GlanceChamberlain College of Nursing seeks qualified Maternal‑Child Faculty (Part‑Time) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in New Hampshire.
Teaching is onsite in a clinical setting with one of our clinical partners. Schedules typically involve 12‑hour rotations (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) for three to four consecutive days.
Maternal‑Child Nursing Course OverviewThis course focuses on family‑centered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. The child‑bearing cycle, including normal experience, high‑risk factors, complications, and alterations are studied. Additional women’s health issues are included. A variety of populations and settings are used in the experiential learning component of this course.
Responsibilities- Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and serve the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to an individual or group of individuals.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student’s knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
- May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of New Hampshire.
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Have genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Have exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care.
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community.
- Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses (course assignments prioritized to professors who are currently licensed in Illinois).
In support of pay‑transparency laws, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment and $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught, experience, training, geographic location, licensure and certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
