Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Medical Telemetry 7W
Location: Mercy Hospital South – 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128
Schedule: Full‑Time | 36 hours/week
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sign‑On Bonus:
- Experienced Nurses:
Up to $10,000 - New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience):
Up to $5,000
Our Medical Telemetry units (7E & 7W) care for a diverse mix of adult patients who require telemetry monitoring. Common diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This is an excellent environment for nurses looking to strengthen assessment skills, broaden clinical experience, and grow within a supportive Med Surg/Telemetry team.
OverviewUtilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy service standards.
QualificationsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
- BSN preferred
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
