Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Coop (Summer/Fall 2026)(Onsite)
Join Collins Aerospace’s Manufacturing support team at the Manchester, IA facility for the Summer/Fall 2026 session. This on‑site co‑op offers hands‑on experience in advanced avionics manufacturing.
What You Will Do- Work alongside Industrial Engineers, production floor operators, and manufacturing support staff to resolve product flow, quality, ergonomic or safety issues associated with state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing techniques.
- Develop or improve designs of fixtures or tooling, build, verify, and implement those fixtures.
- Identify root causes of manufacturing defects, process inhibitors, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Program and operate laser machining, 3D printers, and other manufacturing equipment to develop fixtures.
- Aid in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- A variety of manufacturing techniques used to build advanced electronic equipment.
- Systems in which aerospace manufacturing environments must operate and navigate.
- Prioritization and balancing workload across multiple projects.
- Experience of being an engineer in industry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship required for access to program/contract information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Proficient with Solid Works modeling.
- Experience with VBA or other scripting languages.
- Experience with 3D modeling or laser cutting.
Salary range: 37,000 USD – 82,000 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. The role is eligible for relocation.
