Position: Manufacturing Engineer New Manchester, CT

Aerospace is at a turning point — costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can’t keep up. At Neon Aero, we’re breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.

Here, you won’t just take a job — you’ll help reinvent how the world flies. If you’re ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Neon Aero is building the next generation of advanced propeller systems—and we’re looking for an Aerospace Design/Manufacturing Engineer who loves living at the intersection of design intent and real-world production. In this role, you’ll be the connective tissue between engineering and the shop floor, ensuring propeller components and assemblies are producible, efficient, high-quality, and compliant with aerospace standards.

If you’re energized by solving hands‑on manufacturing problems, partnering closely with production teams, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment, we’d like to meet you.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll be joining a team where manufacturing engineering has a direct impact on product success—helping turn ambitious designs into reliable, repeatable hardware. You’ll have meaningful ownership, strong cross‑functional collaboration, and the chance to drive real improvements in how we build.

You Will get to:

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing and liaison engineering support, partnering directly with Design Engineering and production teams
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, including tooling strategy, build sequence, and process readiness
  • Create and maintain manufacturing plans, work instructions, and MBOMs
  • Support rate readiness and production execution, helping teams hit schedule commitments
  • Resolve shop floor issues using root cause and corrective action methodologies
  • Identify and drive improvements to tooling, processes, and manufacturing flow
  • Champion gains in safety, quality, cost, and throughput
  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering on the Material Review Board (MRB), helping disposition non-conforming material
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations
What you’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Deep manufacturing engineering expertise:
Strong command of Lean manufacturing and manufacturing system design in complex production environments.
  • Proven experience supporting shop floor production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
  • Comfortable working directly with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, and ideally composite fabrication/processing or assembly processes
  • Proven ability authoring manufacturing plans and assembly work instructions
  • Deep experience reading complex engineering drawings; strong command of GD&T
  • Working knowledge of CATIA, NX, or similar 3D modelling tools
  • Expert‑level drawing interpretation plus advanced GD&T application
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or equivalent and 3D modelling tools like CATIA/NX
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • A continuous improvement mindset with comfort leading through change
Why Join Us
  • Work alongside elite operations talent and innovators from across aerospace and tech.
  • Be part of a team moving faster than the industry standard.
  • Shape solutions that are lower‑cost, autonomous, and scalable — the future of aviation.
  • Competitive compensation, including equity participation, growth opportunities, and full health benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k)) designed to support you in and out of work.
