About the OpportunityPerforms basic machining processes and learn more complex processes.
LocationManchester, CT
This role will be onsite 100% of the time.
Responsibilities- Learn all aspects of machining equipment to produce components as required by written instructions
- Change, set and adjust precision tools as required
- Load and delete programs in the computer
- Learn the machinability of metals
- Learn to make minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
- Learn to grind own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
- Maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
- Assist in checking parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained
- Learn about improper machine function and how to check parts not being held to the proper dimensions
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions
- Other job related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Have the knowledge of and/or the ability to learn shop geometry and trigonometry
- Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
