Performs basic machining processes and learn more complex processes.

Manchester, CT

This role will be onsite 100% of the time.

• Learn all aspects of machining equipment to produce components as required by written instructions
• Change, set and adjust precision tools as required
• Load and delete programs in the computer
• Learn the machinability of metals
• Learn to make minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
• Learn to grind own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
• Maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
• Assist in checking parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained
• Learn about improper machine function and how to check parts not being held to the proper dimensions
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions
• Other job related duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

• Have the knowledge of and/or the ability to learn shop geometry and trigonometry
• Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
• The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
• The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
