We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace components
. This role works on-site in Manchester, CT
, collaborating closely with our engineering, operations, and production teams to drive efficiency, quality, and manufacturability.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace products
- Research customer specifications and identify new or improved manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot shop floor processes, tooling, and equipment to resolve production issues
- Design tooling and fixtures for new products and for improving existing processes
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, routers, and operation sheets for new parts
- Interface with customers, machine operators, and vendors to support manufacturing needs
- Review and implement manufacturing drawings and engineering change notices (ECNs)
- Evaluate data and product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals
- Analyze production and quality data to ensure designs meet specifications and requirements
- Drive waste reduction and capacity improvements using continuous improvement tools such as:
- Structured problem solving
- Setup reduction
- Standardization and organization of machining centers
- Mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) in tooling and fixture design
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science preferred
- 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100D quality systems
- Working knowledge of Mastercam, Solid Works
, and ERP systems - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Hands-on machining background strongly preferred
- A practical, shop-floor-focused engineer who enjoys solving real manufacturing problems
- Someone comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality
- A continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail and process discipline
