Job DescriptionThe Special Education Teacher will coteach with a veteran teacher serving a caseload of up to 14 students with the assistance of teaching assistants, clinical social workers, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, certified special education teachers and educational director. We are a small therapeutic school (up to 48 students) located in Manchester, CT. The school is part of the CCGC that has been connecting with families since 1959.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Establishes meaningful connections with students as they work towards returning to their சூப public‑school settings
- Designs educational programs for students based on assessments and presents their findings at team meetings and PPTs
- Maintains communication with certified special education teachers, school social workers, and language pathologists, teaching assistants, and occupational therapists serving the students
- Participates in ongoing professional development including the ARC framework and CPI
- Orders classroom supplies and teaching materials list>
Qualifications
Qualification: B.A. Required, M.A. Preferred
Licensure/CertificationThe Special Education Teacher shall be certified by the Connecticut State Department of Education holding a Special Education Certificate 165 or equivalent.
