Position Summary

The Campus Dean of Faculty serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the campus, responsible for managing day‑to‑day operations of academic functions, ensuring all campus classes and support services run effectively, and developing strong collaborative relationships with faculty and staff. The role directs a broad range of functions to assure quality and appropriateness of the campus’ academic program delivery, including faculty performance, curriculum support, instructional oversight, grant writing, budget and program management.

Responsibilities
  • Campus academic administration – employ, develop, and lead qualified faculty and academic support staff to meet academic standards.
  • Campus academic resource management – assist with management of campus facilities, equipment, technology, and other resources needed to carry out the College’s mission.
  • Campus academic budget management – prepare, recommend, and administer the campus’s academic budget in collaboration with the Campus President.
  • Student relations support – contribute to attraction, retention, and academic success of students.
  • Community relationships – support the Campus President in maintaining community connections, communicating events, and coordinating campus activities open to the public.
  • Assist with assessment of campus academic programs as appropriate.
  • Evaluate campus department chairs.
Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in an appropriately related academic discipline with four (4) or more years of academic managerial experience in higher education, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required competencies:

  • Proven leadership ability and faculty/staff oversight in a higher education environment.
  • Assessment of classroom and/or laboratory teaching effectiveness.
  • Experience in associate‑degree education and comprehensive community college operations.
  • Knowledge of regional and specialized accreditation standards.
  • Planning, developing, and evaluating academic resources, services, and programs.
  • Management of classroom operations and room assignments.
  • Collaboration with multiple constituencies in a culturally and ethnically diverse workplace.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Information technology literacy, including data analysis, evidence‑informed decision making.
  • Budget and fiscal management skills.
  • Organizational and administrative skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Problem‑solving success.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience promoting access and success of students from varied backgrounds.
  • Three (3) or more years of post‑secondary teaching experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of post‑secondary academic administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Experience using student learning and program data to improve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership examples.
  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements and union delegates.
  • Experience supporting academic, workforce, career, technical, or non‑credit programs.
Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $119,245 – $149,056 (annual, approximate). Benefits include generous leave policies, multiple retirement plans, comprehensive health insurance, supplemental benefits, and tuition reimbursement (where applicable).
