Job Description & How to Apply Below

Aerospace is at a turning point — costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can't keep up. At Neon Aero, we're breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start‑up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI‑driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.

Here, you won't just take a job — you'll help reinvent how the world flies. If you're ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.

If you love the mix of strategy and execution—negotiating the best deals one minute and unblocking production the next—this role is for you. As a Buyer in a fast‑paced, cutting‑edge, aerospace and manufacturing environment, you'll own critical procurement decisions that directly impact what we build, how fast we build it, and how reliably we deliver. You'll operate with significant autonomy, handle all procurement requirements from quick‑turn, transactional buying, tackle complex supply challenges, and help set the standard for how world‑class aerospace sourcing gets done.

Why

This Role Matters

You'll own the day‑to‑day purchasing engine that keeps Neon's teams building—while also helping us strengthen and expand a high‑performing aerospace supplier base. This role blends hands‑on, transactional procurement (POs, tracking, records) with strategic sourcing and supplier development, so candidates should be excited to roll up their sleeves and think ahead.

Procurement & Sourcing
  • Research, evaluate, and select suppliers for cost, quality, and service—working within Neon's Approved Supplier List (ASL) and aerospace expectations.
  • Identify gaps in the supply base and help develop, qualify, and onboard new suppliers within Neon's supply chain framework.
  • Source and purchase specialized aerospace materials (e.g., resins, glues, fabrics) as well as complex machined metallic components.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract conditions to secure strong, sustainable supplier agreements.
  • Create and issue purchase orders (POs) and actively track order status and delivery timelines to keep Operations on schedule.
  • Monitor market conditions and supplier pricing to spot cost‑saving opportunities and reduce supply risk.
Inventory & Supplier Management
  • Closely monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages and production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records (orders, pricing, agreements, and supplier details) so information is audit‑ready and reliable.
  • Measure supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement plans where needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve procurement issues—late shipments, defective goods, shortages, and vendor disputes—by coordinating quickly across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure purchasing activity aligns with company policies, ethical sourcing practices, customer contract requirements, and applicable aerospace regulations/standards.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to clarify requirements, confirm material specifications, and translate needs into timely procurement actions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain required third‑party independent certifications for materials and products.
  • Contribute as a proactive team player to cross‑functional initiatives and strategic sourcing goals, leading through influence and clear communication.
What you'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field preferred; relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years in procurement/buying, ideally in aerospace and/or advanced composites manufacturing.
  • Significant experience sourcing specialized aerospace materials such as resins, adhesives/glues, and fabrics.
  • Seasoned negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to evaluate quotations and supplier proposals.
  • Proven experience…
