The rates for this position are:
Public Works Maintenance Worker (Streets) rate: $20.57 per hour
Equipment Operator I hiring range: $22.68 - $31.19 per hour, DOQ
Public Works Maintenance Worker (Streets): perform essential construction and maintenance work to keep our streets, utilities, and public facilities in top condition. From repairing roadways and sidewalks to assisting with utility projects, you'll be making a real impact every day.
Equipment Operator I: responsible for operating light and medium-sized equipment and performing manual work functions associated with construction, maintenance and repair of City streets/roads, etc.
This position is open until filled and may close at any time.
Essential Job Functions
Public Works Maintenance Worker (Streets):
- Perform construction, repair, and maintenance, including concrete and asphalt work, of City streets, sidewalks, curbs, and drainage systems
- Patch holes, compact road surfaces, maintain drainage systems, install/repair/cut pipe, construct/repair ditches, clear drainage obstructions, clear ditches/gutters, break up pipes and concrete, mix cement, install fences
- Excavate and grade sites, dig holes/trenches and shovel/spread/level materials (dirt, sand, gravel and base, concrete, asphalt, etc.)
- Operate a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles for road maintenance and repair tasks
- Assist with traffic control, marker, cone, and signage installation, and roadway safety measures
- Respond to emergency situations such as storm clean-up and hazardous roadway conditions
- Work as part of a team to keep the City running smoothly and looking great!
- Operates various equipment and vehicles to complete tasks related to the maintenance, upkeep, installation, and construction of City grounds, property, utilities, rights-of-way, and other infrastructure for departmental operations; drives vehicles over public roads, work sites, rights-of-way, parks, public works facilities, and other City property; maneuvers in and around traffic, parked cars, equipment, utilities, and other obstacles; obeys all traffic laws and safety guidelines;
monitors immediate environment and work area to ensure the safety of operator, other workers, the equipment, and the public; drives single, tandem, and tri-axle dump trucks or brush trucks in order to transport and haul materials between original and final destinations for use in maintenance and construction projects - Performs manual work functions associated with…
