Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider of virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services worldwide. The AWS Data Center Security team is seeking a creative, innovative, results‑oriented program manager in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C. area to lead security and security‑systems projects and programs in the data center environment. You will contribute to a collaborative and productive environment with a strong service‑oriented culture among multiple diverse and highly skilled teams of project and program managers.

These teams are responsible for designing, installing, and evolving physical security systems and programs, including intrusion detection, access control/management, CCTV, screening, emergency response, and more. You will manage difficult and interdependent projects with regional impact, interpret Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards, collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure each data center meets AWS physical‑security standards, and ensure local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources needed to meet the ongoing mission.

• Project management for physical security systems related to new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects.
• Prepare physical security project lifecycle management—including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close‑out documentation.
• Stay current on emerging physical security technologies and assess their applicability within the AWS physical security program.
• Provide subject matter expert (SME) support for leadership to make strategic decisions regarding technology and procedure.
• Balance performance metrics such as vendor service delivery performance, spend vs. budget variance, cost‑reduction goal attainment, post‑installation defect rates, and physical security program analysis.
• Manage vendors for onboarding, RFQ, bid, contract, QA/QC, and support processes.
• Effectively and accurately manage multi‑million dollar budgets for infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams and provide support for global initiatives.

• Experience as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager, interpreting and implementing requirements within personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience in physical security project management.
• 5+ years of experience in Security Operations in technology, manufacturing, or similar industries, including access control systems, CCTV, and defense‑in‑depth strategies.

• BA/BS degree or higher in a related field.
• Effective communication and briefing skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences regarding physical security standards and system designs.
• Experience delivering physical security projects or programs within an enterprise setting.
• Background in Physical Security Design, Security Systems Deployment, Physical Security Operations, Security Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or physical security designs.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross‑functional teams across geographies and business units.
• PSP, CPP, PMP certification; training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) or certification/experience with Lenel Access Control System.

Salary range: USA, VA, Manassas – $80,000 – $140,000 USD annually.
