What is a Style Consultant? A Style Consultant is passionate about strong operations and providing an incredible guest experience, bringing the energy of style to life with in-store presentations that enable quick and easy self-discovery. Style Consultants are welcoming and helpful in meeting guests needs on the sales floor and in the fitting room. They ensure the floor is set full with the right product, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor with the right sizes, styles, and colors.

- Guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
- Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies and basic visual merchandising
- Industry trends including style, seasonality, and brand differentiation
- Set, fill, and price the floor according to what is most important to the guest
Responsibilities (Typical Day) A Style Consultant’s day varies, but typically includes:
- Drive sales and maintain a guest-ready floor by executing visual standards, inspirational and promotional signing, and staying knowledgeable on assortment and brand offerings to assist guests
- Use store tools to understand sales, inventory ownership, and support guest needs
- Sort freight, push freight to the sales floor, and locate merchandise in the backroom based on business needs
- Set visual presentations and merchandising guides to support guest experience and sales
- Maintain product availability and a full floor by executing fills and merchandising to capacity
- Maintain backroom organization for replenishment, fulfillment, and guest requests
- Remerchandise presentations as items sell through
- Support price changes and clearance merchandising by executing signing
- Maintain and use the fitting rooms to welcome, inspire, and help guests
- Support fulfillment and guest needs by moving merchandise from fitting rooms and guest service back to the sales floor
- Uphold a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) with compliance to laws
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and helping solve needs
- Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target
- All other duties based on business needs

Skills and Qualities We have training to help you learn, but a few skills are helpful from the start:
- Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products and accessories
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Ability to use handheld scanners and other technology as directed
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly
- Stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Basic Requirements Additional basics we expect:
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Ability to climb ladders
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely (frequently lifting up to 15 pounds; occasionally up to 44 pounds with assistance)
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
- Capable of working in varying temperatures and conditions (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.)
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
