Electronics Technician

Job Description

The Test Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, testing, and repair of electro/mechanical systems. This role involves working on production, customer returns, engineering development, data collection, and testing. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly to the component level. Additionally, the ability to use hand and automated tools, as well as set-up, calibration, and test equipment, is essential.

Responsibilities

* Carry out fitting, assembly, and testing of electro/mechanical/optical products.

* Engage in electro/mechanical assembly, alignment, design, and testing.

* Complete associated documents and paperwork.

* Ensure material kits are complete and align with bills of materials.

* Test assembled parts and sub-assemblies.

* Perform final packing for Laser Radar.

* Assemble and clean components.

* Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work area.

* Submit documentation for improvements and replacement components.

* Keep the supervisor informed of any unresolved or potential problems that could affect production schedules.

* Provide support to the Production Supervisor on all production assignments.

* Assist in other departments as necessary.

* Be conversant with current industry quality and Health & Safety requirements, especially regarding laser light.

Essential Skills

* Experience in testing and repair.

* Soldering experience.

* Hands-on mechanical experience.

* Troubleshooting and test design skills.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree, 2-year technical diploma, or 1 year of relevant experience.

* Experience in Metrology and/or LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is desirable.

* Engineering degree preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite for 5 days a week from 7AM to 3PM. The facility, located in Manassas, VA, is a state-of-the-art environment comprising 35-40 people, including 15 engineers and 20 technicians/manufacturing staff. It features testing and manufacturing labs onsite, allowing engineers to follow their designs through the life cycle and collaborate directly with manufacturing engineers. The work environment is quiet, and most tasks are individualized, requiring employees to take ownership of their work.

The technology involves high-frequency operations, and the company is unique in its support of this technology. The site is currently increasing in volume, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work experience.

This is a Contract position based out of MANASSAS, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
