Bruck Edwards is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Specialist Subject Matter Expert to support a mission-critical federal identity management program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of the network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability of services in a secure environment.
Responsibilities- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols and access controls in compliance with federal standards.
- Support the deployment and configuration of network hardware and software.
- Support network monitoring to track network health, network utilization, and network optimization. Specify notification preferences based on pre-set rules
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and secure operations.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for network-related issues.
- Provide technical support for system upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- 8+ years of experience in network administration or engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Additional years of professional experience and IT certifications may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Associate’s degree, plus 4 years of experience can equate to a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DNSSEC, DHCP, VPN, and firewall technologies.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network platforms.
- Familiarity with federal IT security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or similar.
- Experience supporting federal identity or credentialing systems.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
