RoleThe Generator Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. The Technician serves as the technical expert and primary customer contact, continually communicating with the customer to provide an exceptional experience and drive data center uptime and availability.
Responsibilities- Know and follow all company safety rules, maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and participate in accident prevention and safety improvement activities
- Respond to customer requests
- Travel to designated sites and perform professional field service repairs consistent with company standards
- Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs
- Keep the Generator Service Manager continually apprised and use leadership to assist in answering customer questions and problems
- Document detailed, complete, and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed
- Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage
- Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice
- Lift up to 40 lbs frequently; push/pull a maximum of 40 lbs
- Wear PPE (protective glasses, gloves, and footwear) as required
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year to $133,200/year, depending on location and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits may be provided as part of the overall package.
