We are a commercial glazing contractor and glass fabrication company looking for a hands-on HR and recruiting operator to take day-to-day hiring and employee issues off leaderships plate.
This is not a strategic HR role and not an advisory consulting role.
You will be on-site three days per week and expected to personally execute the work recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, employee relations, and documentation.
If you prefer advising leadership, designing programs, or working remotely, this role is not a fit.
Scope of Work (Execution Required)Recruiting & Hiring (Primary Focus)- Personally manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles
- Post jobs, screen resumes, and conduct first-round interviews
- Coordinate second-round interviews with leadership
- Maintain hiring momentum without constant oversight
- Support offers and onboarding using Paylocity
- Recruit for:
- Field installers and helpers
- Production / plant staff
- Office and coordinator roles
- project Managers
- supervisors
- Estimators
- Be a visible, on-site HR presence
- Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues early
- Meet directly with employees when issues arise
- Draft corrective actions and documentation
- Support terminations when required
- Prevent issues from escalating to ownership unnecessarily
- Maintain employee records and documentation
- Support onboarding and off boarding processes
- Build, Maintain, and update job descriptions
- Coordinate benefits and payroll support as needed
- Use Paylocity HR Edge for compliance guidance
- Not remote or hybrid
- Not a strategic HR leadership position
- Not a policy-only or advisory role
- Not a VP, Director, or Head of People role
This role is about doing the work, not directing others to do it.
Qualifications- 5+ years of hands-on HR and recruiting experience
- Significant experience with hourly employees
- Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, trades, or industrial environments strongly preferred
- Comfortable handling difficult employee conversations directly
- Confident interviewer who can move hiring forward independently
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
- Comfortable working without a large HR team
- On-site three fixed days per week
- Professional, job-site-appropriate business attire required
- Independent contractor invoices monthly
- Engagement may be ended at any time if expectations are not met
- Hiring moves forward without leadership involvement
- Employee issues are addressed early and documented
- Fewer interruptions to ownership
- Work is completed without constant direction
