Job SummaryPerforms and/or assists in transporting patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient’s condition.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 1 year of related work experience (Preferred)
- EMT‑Basic
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC)
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV driving record
- AHA BLS
- Remain calm and organized in emergent situations
- Available for rotating shifts as required
- Strong sense of responsibility, decision‑making ability, work independently
- Good judgment
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing
- Effective interaction with the public
Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: constant standing, frequently walking, bending/stooping. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. Use safe handling equipment for weights over 35 lbs. Proficient communicative, auditory, visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
Other- May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention
- On‑call responsibilities as directed
- Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed
