Performs and/or assists in transporting patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient’s condition.

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 1 year of related work experience (Preferred)

• EMT‑Basic
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC)
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV driving record
• AHA BLS

• Remain calm and organized in emergent situations
• Available for rotating shifts as required
• Strong sense of responsibility, decision‑making ability, work independently
• Good judgment
• Basic computer knowledge
• Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing
• Effective interaction with the public

Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: constant standing, frequently walking, bending/stooping. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. Use safe handling equipment for weights over 35 lbs. Proficient communicative, auditory, visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.

• May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention
• On‑call responsibilities as directed
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed
