Senior Tax Accountant

An established tax and advisory practice in the Manassas area is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its team. The firm recently acquired a tax accounting practice
, creating the need for an additional senior-level professional to help support an expanded client base and increased tax workload.

This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in tax compliance, planning, and client advisory services. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional—particularly someone running a small or solo practice—who may be interested in joining a larger platform with an established client base.

• Review and prepare individual and business tax returns
  , including 1040s and business entities
• Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients
• Work directly on tax engagements in a hands-on capacity
• Support the oversight and quality control of tax engagements and deliverables
• Collaborate with senior staff on client strategy and advisory services
• Assist with cross-training and planning initiatives during the off-season
• Established practice with approximately 850–900 annual tax returns (mix of business returns and 1040s
  )
• Focus on tax planning, consulting, and compliance
• Opportunity to work alongside experienced senior professionals and take on increasing responsibility over time

• CPA preferred (MBA or equivalent advanced experience will be considered)
• Proficiency with CCH Pro System fx is required
• Experience with both individual and business tax returns
• Strong client advisory and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional services environment

• In-office role in Manassas, VA (5-6 days per week during tax season)
• More flexibility outside of peak season depending on workload

• Candidates will typically participate in 2–3 interview rounds with firm leadership and senior staff
• Interview process will take place as soon as possible with hiring decision expected shortly after April 15
