Position Title: Accounting Manager, Finance Operations
Location: Manassas, VA (Hybrid – 4 days in-office, 1 day remote)
Assignment Type: Permanent Hire
Compensation: $125,000 – $130,000 base salary
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k).
Job Description:
Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization to identify an experienced Accounting Manager, Finance Operations to lead core financial operations and support strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with a strong background in accounts receivable, process improvement, and team development.
The Accounting Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of receivables and disbursements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely collections, and effective cash flow management. This individual will also play a key role in driving operational efficiencies through automation and emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full accounts receivable lifecycle, including billing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, and aging analysis.
- Manage disbursement processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals; conduct performance management and foster a collaborative, results‑driven culture.
- Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances and optimize cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare financial operations metrics, variance analyses, and forecasts for leadership.
- Support monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting processes through analysis and reporting.
- Drive continuous process improvements, leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
- Coordinate audit support activities and respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Partner cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders to enhance service levels and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field (required).
- 5–7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
- 2–3+ years of direct people management and performance leadership experience.
- Strong background in accounts receivable and collections management.
- Proven experience improving processes and implementing technology‑driven efficiencies.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and reporting systems such as Essbase, OBIEE, VENA Solutions, People Soft, and/or Power BI preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying risk and strengthening internal controls.
