Security Systems Engineer/Applications Engineer

Join Echelon Services to work as a full‑time Applications Programmer with strong technical skills and security systems engineering experience. The role involves collaborating with system engineers and technicians on new and ongoing projects across the National Capital Region (NCR). Key responsibilities include design assistance, programming, and integration of security systems such as access control, CCTV, intercom, and IDS.

• Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements
• Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements
• Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks
• Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors and technical specialists
• Train system users and other system support personnel
• Perform desktop hardware and operating system set‑up, imaging software loading, and configuration
• Provide proper training to workers to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and avoid system malfunctions
• Work with Project Managers and engineers for security design and integration, managing resources, scope, budget, timelines and quality
• Provide technical support to field technicians and operational staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Travel to client sites as required

• 1 year of physical security programming experience, with regular interface with general contractors, property managers and client stakeholders
• 1 year experience working independently with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• 1 year experience successfully completing projects safely and on time
• Must be able to obtain and hold a government security clearance
• 1 year of experience with installation processes and materials used in Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems and Video Management Systems
• 1 year of experience creating technical documentation, including design documents and reference libraries
