Senior Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer
Location: Manassas, VA (On-Site)*
* Compensation: $78/hr
CPI is seeking a Senior Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer to support development of advanced undersea sensor systems. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance DSP algorithms and embedded software solutions for mission-critical defense applications.
The selected candidate will collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance signal processing capabilities in complex undersea environments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field
- 8+ years of related experience
- OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience
- Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
- Strong Digital Signal Processing (DSP) experience
- Proficiency in C++
- Experience with MATLAB
- Agile development experience preferred
- Design, develop, and optimize DSP algorithms for undersea sensor systems
- Integrate DSP solutions into embedded and real-time system environments
- Conduct performance analysis and algorithm optimization
- Support integration of software with DSP hardware architectures
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and verification activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve DSP software and system-level issues
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Support testing and validation efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Advanced signal processing theory and implementation
- C/C++ software development
- MATLAB algorithm modeling and simulation
- DSP hardware platforms and architectures
- Real-time systems and embedded software environments
- Algorithm performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with RTOS and embedded systems
- Background supporting submarine or surface ship sonar systems
- Knowledge of underwater acoustics and sonar signal processing
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to signal processing
- Experience with oceanographic data modeling and analysis
- Fully on-site in Manassas, VA
Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
